Some things don’t need words to begin with

I can’t define who I am; the world does that. So I act on the pull, and let the reasons be written after the fact.

I couldn’t if I wanted to

Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t define my own “identity”. My identity is shaped through engaging with the broad, wide world.

So what I can do is engage more, through the things I like to do. Those are things that have to be studied and practised. There is no point adding extra defining pressure to a process that is destined to be pure and secular.

No use procrastinating

That being said: if the process is indeed what ultimately defines me, there is no use in procrastinating anything. Not even when there’s no logical or rational motivation behind engaging in it.

For me that’s music, art and fashion. They’re the things I think about doing a lot, and as a matter of fact I’ve thought about them my whole life. It’s always: I could do this, I could do that. Then I should indeed just engage in it, and do it.

Only this feeling

I agree. Yet once more, when I attempt to engage, I ask myself to come up with a strong logical reason for why I should.

There is no answer I can put into words. There is only this feeling.

The feeling is pulling and pushing at the same time, it’s tugging my arm saying: Hey here am I! Play with me. Repeatedly I turn it down.

Some things don’t need words

That’s stupid, because now I realise some things don’t need words to begin with.

Words that describe the “logical reason” for doing things will be formed after the fact.

Like memoirs

Just like memoirs, shaped and fancied up after decades of hard work, blood, sweat and tears. When the subject is asked why, the answer usually looks something like:

I just had this drive.

I just wanted to do it.

I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

That tugging little guy

They turned it into repeated action, even if for the longest time of their careers they were the underdogs, walking the dark side-streets.

They didn’t care. They were engaged with that tugging little guy: their vocation.

I’m a lot like that

I’m going to action. I’m going to not care. I’m going to let go of face, after all.

How am I going to do it? I’m not sure yet. But I do know that it starts with ACTION!

Converging

All the things I engage in are converging at some point. They’re not separate, even though it looks like it. I’ve had this eerie feeling many times.

Two hours after writing this: just doing has already helped me make a few looks.

REPEATED ACTION. EVERY SINGLE DAY!
